When Papa Smurf lodges a complaint about a recent poor harvest which led to a food shortage in Smurf village, Homnibus gives the Smurfs a sack of purple beans he claims can be used as food. Hoping this will solve their problems for the coming winter, Papa Smurf, Farmer Smurf and Chef Smurf work together in secrecy to introduce a delicious new meal to the village using the beans.
