Beginning in 1972, Guy Colwell's Inner City Romance forged new territory for underground comix, portraying stories about prison, black culture, ghetto life, the sex trade and the realities of inner city life. Colwell recounts in the accompanying text, his personal journey to artistic maturity forged by radicalism and frustration.
